    • History

    The members of Coastal Safety and Awareness Initiative (COSAI) are trained Officers and Men from different Maritime Institutions within and outside Nigeria. Others are Marine Safety Experts. The idea for this initiative was born many years ago and finally registered on 6th April 2018. To this extent, it could conveniently be said that the history of this initiative dates back to the days the officers of this initiative were field officers with their respective Maritime Institutions.

    The Coastal safety and Awareness Initiative (COSAI) comprise of Men and Women who have received robust training in the core areas of search and Rescue Operations and sea Surveillance Most of the officers of the Coastal Safety and Awareness Initiative were among the team which entered into a partnership programme with the Lagos State Government, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) wherein they were engaged in all search and Rescue Operations and the maintenance of Coastal Safety Awareness across all Costal Jurisdictions within Lagos State.
